Frequently Asked Questions

Questions related to the delivery of cargo and goods from Thailand.

1How to Ship Cargo from Thailand?
Shipping cargo from Thailand begins with thorough preparation. The first step is proper packaging of goods and creating a detailed packing list. The list should include contents, quantity, dimensions, and weight of each box. Note that airlines determine costs based on the highest weight, so pay attention to calculating the volumetric weight. Typically, packaging and list preparation are handled by the supplier or seller.
An invoice is also needed to calculate shipping costs, duties, and VAT. Once documents are prepared, the packed cargo should be sent to our warehouse. Shipping from Thailand can be done by air or sea. Air freight is a fast option, allowing direct delivery or with a transfer. Sea freight is optimal for large commercial shipments, with the possibility of sending smaller loads via consolidated containers. Please note that we do not accept sea shipments of goods purchased outside our companies.
2How Much Does Shipping from Thailand Cost?
The cost of shipping cargo from Thailand varies depending on several factors: the type of cargo, its dimensions, and the destination. To get an accurate estimate, please provide as much information as possible about your request: Box dimensions (width x height x length) and weight. Name and quantity of cargo units. Destination country, city, and arrival airport. For a more precise cost calculation, we recommend requesting a packing list from your supplier or seller and forwarding it to our specialist. Example request: "I need a cost estimate for air freight to Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO). The cargo consists of T-shirts, 12 packages, each weighing 14 kg, with dimensions of 35x35x20 cm. Additional details are provided in the packing list and invoice attached to this email. Customs clearance will be handled by us." Such a request simplifies the calculation process. For example, the air freight rate from Bangkok to Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow in September 2022 was $7.5 per kilogram. Please note that this price refers to a past period. For current rates, please contact our specialist.
3What is Required for Shipping Cargo from Thailand?
To ship cargo from Thailand, you need to prepare the following documents and information: a packing list and an invoice, as well as details about the goods. The cargo must be delivered to our warehouse in Bangkok or you can provide an address for our staff to pick up the cargo. The "cargo pickup from supplier" service is paid, and its cost depends on the distance of the specified address from our warehouse.
4Can you pick up the cargo from the supplier and transport it to the specified airport?
Yes, we can pick up the cargo from the supplier, clear it through customs, and transport it to the specified airport. For this, we need to receive the supplier's contact details, the packing list, and the invoice.
5Can you clear customs for the cargo in Thailand and ship it to our city?
Of course, we can arrange to pick up the cargo from your supplier, complete the necessary customs procedures, and ship it to the specified airport. To provide this service, we will need the supplier's contact details, as well as the packing list and invoice.
6Can you purchase the cargo for us and ship it to us?
Yes, we offer a service where we purchase the goods and then ship them to the customer. You can find more details about this service in the "Wholesale Supplies from Thailand" section on our website.
7Can we enter into a foreign trade contract with you?
Yes, we are ready to enter into a foreign trade contract to organize official shipments of goods from Thailand to your country.
8What are Incoterms?
International Commercial Terms, Incoterms, are a glossary of commercial terms developed under the aegis of the International Chamber of Commerce. The current edition, Incoterms 2020, has been in effect since September 10, 2019. The first edition was published in 1936. This glossary provides terms for basic delivery conditions, including the transportation process and delivery arrangements. The three-letter abbreviations for each term are standardized and agreed upon with the relevant UN bodies.
9What is FOB Thailand?
FOB (Free on Board) is a term from Incoterms that refers to the basic delivery conditions whereby the seller is responsible for delivering the goods onto the ship chartered by the buyer at the agreed port of shipment within the specified timeframe. The buyer must charter the ship and timely notify the seller about the time and place of loading, the name of the ship, its arrival time, and the loading conditions. The risk of loss or damage to the goods transfers from the seller to the buyer at the moment the goods are loaded onto the ship. In contracts, it is used as, for example, FOB Vladivostok (with Vladivostok being the agreed port of shipment).
10What is EXW in a supplier's invoice?
Ex Works (EXW) is a basic delivery condition under which the seller makes the goods available to the buyer at the seller's premises or warehouse and is not responsible for loading the goods onto the transport vehicles provided by the buyer. The buyer bears all costs and risks associated with transporting the goods from the seller's premises or warehouse to the destination.
11What is Cargo?
Simply put, cargo means freight. Cargo refers to products or various properties of individuals and legal entities that are accepted for transportation by common carriers or other transport providers.
12What is an AWB or Air Waybill?
An Air Waybill (AWB) is a transport document that serves as evidence of a contract of carriage between the shipper and the air carrier in international transportation. The Air Waybill includes the following details: currency code, payment type code, gross weight of the cargo (in pounds or kilograms), tariff class (C - special cargo rate, M - minimum rate, R - discount rate, etc.). The Air Waybill also features the airline's logo, name, and serial number.
